Here at the Grange Caravan Park we do our upmost to make all living species welcome. Our passion for nature is apparent for all of our guests to see. We have planted over 2000 trees and hedgerow shrubs providing cover, nesting space and food for many visiting birds and insects. Placed over 50 habitat boxes with many repeat customers staying each year and planted over 200 Norfolk Reeds around our pond which clean all of the water which drains off the whole site.
We have further increased our Green Energy from the use of our 2 Air Source Heat Pumps to installing 60 Solar Panels in November. The benefits wereimmediately noticeable even on an overcast November day.
‘Herd Energy’ a local supplier of Solar energy use their knowledge to install Solar that is specific to your business energy needs. The ongoing support after installation allows for our energy consumption to be monitored before deciding whether our business would benefit fromhaving a battery installed, our system allowing an easy ‘plug in’ solution if and when the time arises. https://www.herdenergy.co.uk/
To continue our work for Nature we have signed up to the David Bellamy Blooming Marvellous Pledge for Nature. As part of the pledge we were visited by FWAG (Farming & Wildlife Advisory Group) who provided us with a positive report regarding the work we have put in place already on our park.
We have also completed a Carbon Literacy Course which was provided by Greener Future https://greenerfutureleicestershire.co.uk/ We gained a vast amount of knowledge and insight on how to reduce our Carbon Footprint further at our Park
